Rex Ogle was born and raised in Texas, and always wanted to be a writer. Now that he is living his dream, he wants to share his journey and experiences with youth.
After college, Rex moved to New York City to pursue an editorial career, interning at Marvel Comics before working at DC Comics, and later at Scholastic and Little Brown Young Readers. He championed over a dozen NY Times Bestsellers on major brands such as Star Wars, LEGO, Batman, Superman, Power Rangers, Transformers, Minecraft, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and (Rex’s favorite) X-Men.
Under pseudonym Rey Terceiro, Rex is the creator of bestselling Meg, Jo, Beth, & Amy, and Swan Lake: Quest for the Kingdoms (which Paramount has slated to become an animated movie), and Northranger, which was nominated for Harvey and GLAAD Media Awards. Under his own name, Rex is the author of dozens of books, comics, and graphic novels. Best known for his prose memoir Free Lunch (recipient of multiple starred reviews, listed as a Best Book of 2019 by Amazon, Kirkus, and Chicago Public Library, and the winner of the YALSA Award for Excellence in Non-Fiction) and memoir-in-verse Abuela Don’t Forget Me, Rex also wrote Scholastic’s Four Eyes and Pizza Face. He has over a dozen books coming out in the next few years, and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
Rex is able and willing to discuss everything from tv to movies, music to videogames (especially MarioKart!), and comics to books, all with honesty and candor. He writes memoirs, prose, free verse, and graphic novels, and is happy to offer pointers and tips to students and teachers alike.
